Millemissen:Sure, but using the Eclipse speaker/s as a center speaker must be extremely good. Looking forward to find a dealer, who has the Eclipse in a multi channel sound setup ;-) MM There is a tv - and there is a BV.
Beolab 50, Beolab 8000 x 2, Beolab 4000 x 2, BeoSound Core, BeoSound 9000, BeoSound Century, BeoLit 15, BeoPlay A1, BeoPlay P2, BeoPlay H9 3rd Gen, BeoPlay H6, EarSet 3i, BeoVision Eclipse Gen 2 55", BeoPlay V1-40, BeoCom 6000 and so much else :)
Yeah, as i said in my initial post last week after playing with the Eclipse, its very very good, but doubt it would remove the need for additional speakers in all but the smallest lounges.....i airplay'd some music to it, it was excellent having that functionality and it sounded damn good for a sound bar / TV, but in no way means i could sell my other supplementary speakers. But its excellent for those who want an all in one i guess.
Michael: The Eclipse doesn't even have two way right/left just a single full frequency speaker per channel.

Will be interesting, when Geoff Martin gets the time to tell us more about this speaker combination.
The amount of drivers is not all these days - it is how you use/tune these speaker as a whole.
We see progress in B&O speaker technology each time they launch new speakers.

I like my Avant 55 very much. But it is very bad, that there will be no more software updates. Deezer and Spoitfy isn't working anymore and the HDMI Dolby Digital Bug is awful.
Please B&O support the Avant 55 MK1.

Michael: He didn't sound very enthusiastic at the launch when he explained the setup in a video to a reporter. When they launched Avant he was much more engaged.

Probably pretty worn out after being at that exibition (the IFA/Berlin).
I guess we would all be, when answering the same questions from multiple journalists.
The video with the Avant back then was a B&O arrangement for invited journalists, who wanted to go in depth with the product.

Is there not a line with B&O support here on the forum or one that having connections with the support department? I asume that there are B&O dealers here on this platform that can check for this......?
moxxey: Sandyb: The 12-65 is so much better for everyday use than the Avant MK 1. I agree. Or the BV11-55. I have both and both perform superbly and have their pros (BV11 has a sharper image and perhaps a little better for sport). Just to point out I bought an Avant MK-1 and it was awful. Sold it after only 6 months. Bought the BV12-65 an, as Sandyb rightly says, is a better set in many ways.

Chris, would you choose a BV11-46/55 over the Avant Mk1 for picture quality? Assume that I did not need or want 4K capability so for SD and HD viewing only? Thanks, S.
B&O products are V1-32, BS2, H95, E8 and an Essence remote.11-46 now replaced with Sony A90J 65”, Sony HT-A9, Sony UBP-X800M2 and Sony SRS-NS7.

That is a real shame then.......
Have to agree with Michael here - and the, to me, confusing element is that B&O have tried to increase their margins/profit too much as they introduced new versions and new TV's, not necessarily guaranteeing that a successor actually had better quality. Which, I guess, is why the 7-55 mk2 continued to outperform newer TV's after reaching EOL. The Avant NG was released for various reasons, but ditching their internal SW development and improving margins doesn't sound like a good start. Compare it to the development of the original Avant. Compare it to other companies that tried this route, such as the Mercedes E-class: the engineers kept improving everything, door locking mechanisms etc and the W124 was a better car than the W123. Then they started making cars to a cost, designing it to improving margins - just compare the awfull W210 quality to the previous W124... The W210 had more bells and whistles, but it was not a better car than the one it replaced.
I do hope that B&O will turn the ship around, just as Mercedes did. Sorry for being slightly off topic.
