I do not see anything on the CSA paper that says the BV 11 is 3 D?

You may already know this but I was in my dealers on thursday looking at the V1 and he informed me that the V1 is the next generation of B&O Tv's engine wise and there is a planned upgrade to the Tv after the BV11 comes out. Basically you can download the new smart functions over the net to the V1.

I was utterly blown away with the V1 in my extended demo it looks stunning and I had a play about this time found the remote a little difficult but all in I was blown away by the Tv.

Looks like my Loewe will be going to be replaced by the V1.

As an enthusiast but non-professional, I'm intrigued how someone would come across this particular website.

Is it part of a more general one for those in the electronics business?

CSA is a certification agency which test products and certifies that they meet certain national and international regulations regarding safety, electromagnetic radiation, etc. I presume that the products that have ended up in that certification listing are going to be marketed in North America.

BV11 will have ML according to a dealer I talked to.

During the struer visit, the engineers told us that despite its age, ML had a few more years to go!

Also the replacement link system had supposedly been canned by the new CEO.

Hello Neill,

I was suspecting this but didnt have it confirmed. Sounds great! I have the V1 and love it but it could use a better interface (even if it is quite good already). We´ll just have to wait and see what comes. It is still quite a few days until the release.

BY THE WAY. Have you guys noticed how the BeoVision 10 looks like it is inspired from Mark Rothko painting no. 14? It looks so much alike, even the colors are reproduced in the BV10 speaker grills.

Smart guy!  I'm starting to like this new CEO. Finally someone stopping those engineers from developing unnecessary technologies that are legacy before they even leave the door.

He is restoring my hope in the brand.

So does it adhere to the David Lewis design camp of classic time less design or will it look like a V1 and something that belongs in an Ikea catalogue ?

If Apple brought out a TV I can assure you it would most definitely look a million times more classy than the V1.

I really find it hard to believe that B&O let that monstrosity one out of the design studio.

Assuming it was actually designed and not cobbled together with bits found in a skip outside the Loewe reject shop ?

I hear he left some good designs, so short term there is hope!

It seems the V1 was almost designed to look cheaper than the normal Beovision . The problem is that most £500 LGs and Samsungs etc look much nicer. Not a good road for a company partly built on uniquely appealing cosmetics.

If BV 11 would be designed like V1, you could sell your BV 10 on ebay for double original price.

But I'm sure BV 11 is a BV 10 with a new modern chassis. Otherwise B&O is really stupid.

... 3 minutes after this post you have given an excellent example ...

I know quite some people that consider the puristic "BAUHAUS DESIGN" of of the V1 beeing
much more desireable then "glass & aluminium aestethics" a la BV10 or Apple.

As always, beauty is in the eye of the beholder ...

The reason the V1 looks cheap is because they can't use the same materials as for the expensive range. B&O won't use plastic that imitates metal or glass. Unlike Samsung and others.

I am sure I will not regret that I just bought a V1 when the new BV11 comes out. Everyone has got the right to an opinion, but I think some of you guys are to harsh when it comes to the V1. Have some of you ever seen one in a real home enviroment? I saw the official pictures and I even saw the V1 in the shop. I was still not very impressed. But then I saw one in a home environment and it looked just great. I can admit that I where never impressed by the BV10 or BV8 or many of the other BV´s that has been on sale the last couple of years. Why? Because I believe that Bang Olufsen can´t live on old merits. In my opinion that was just what they where doing. They kept a design language that belonged in the 90´s for far to long because their customers expected it from them. Still they where not buying new stuff. They bought second hand stuff instead knowing that it looked just the same as the old stuff. When reading this forum people are looking to buy second hand speakers that are still in production like the BL5, BL3, BL 8000, BL 6000 to save money. Nothing wrong with it but Bang Olufsen can´t compete with it´s second hand market if they are going to survive in the future.

I'd agree with a lot of that, and even I have thought about a white V1-32 for a bedroom. My wife has told me she wouldn't ever share our bed again if I did.

Considering that we are considering a nanny, that might have its benefits :-)

Indeed I was told the speaker grille will be thinner, but the tv will remain square. Not sure how this is possible!

Not sure how to explain it, but the bv10 glass panned is slightly recessed compared to the framed. That won't be the case any longer.

It'll have wifi, dlna, etc... Like the V1.

Your right nobody did! The V1 could be made if Krypton for all I care, it's the design that bothers me. Different tastes and all that.

Looking forward to the 11.

Hi Chris

Actually changed bv1032 to v140 somehow it brightens up the kitchen more edgy feel

Using it so much that my bv7403d is now redundant!

Been told bv11 all sizes are 3d bv7 prob phase out in the future as to use 1 chassis

Regards

Regarding the supposed Bauhaus design ( ugly nazi version of art deco )  V1 , it looks cheap and nasty , simple as that

If David Lewis' designs are so passé why are they in the MMO ?

I wonder if it's just a coincidence the monstrosity of a  tv is named after the flying bomb from ww2 ?

That crashed and burned too

I suppose the 11 will look a bit like the 9.  That had squashed proportions.

Another David Lewis design !

I just hope it doesn't have that weird acoustic lens stuck on the front. Looks like a tap.

What do you think will replace the masterlink in the future? Because BV11 will not have this connection! Do you think there will be any link at all? Perhaps IP-based? I still love the integration with my Elko Living System and my BeoPort (Linkplayer)
