So here’s a question....and I’m sure I’ll get flamed on this?
What is the practical difference between the Auralic Aeries (seems t be B&Os technical device of choice for BL90) and the BS Core?
There may be slightly higher standards 32bit/348kbs (or whatever). But both act effectively as a bridge between a formal NAS or plug-in HDD.
What is wrong with either upping the specs of the Core or re-boxing an AAeries to be NL compatible under licence?
There is no current PUC for the AAeries on my Avant but having an official certification on that could help solve a problem.
Theres also the problem of getting that killer App that can integrate BS5 MOTs and Momment tricks pulled together that actually works
BTW.....
Reading the Auralic website on their products and its weapons grade GUFF in terms of how it describes its products. I just can’t read it and think do I need this or do I need that? Amazes me how this stuff sells and B&O does not? I think a lot os Audiophiles get buyers remorse when they get something they didn’t expect and keep buying more boxes to solve the problem.
KMA:9 LEE:Why not make a Core that you don't have to hide away?Make it look premium in a slick looking and well styled brushed aluminium box with little wood trimmings if you like. Put a tiny LCD display on it to show current source (or whatever), with a glowing 'BANG & OLUFSEN' logo? Then you can appease those who want to 'see' a 'music system' and call it such...For those who want to hide it away they can choose the 'plain black plastic' version for less money?Just a thought... You can then make one product all things to all men, so to speak.LeeI completely agree with this.A box that can be left on show, proudly displaying the B&O brand, with premium materials. Perhaps with basic controls & display: I'm thinking about the functionality of BeoSound 35 *without* the built-in speakers. Just add BeoLabs of your choice to a small AudioCenter such as this.Just make it simple & beautiful!KMA

Roger:Perhaps a second edition of this is what B&O needs? https://www.beoworld.org/prod_details.asp?pid=1007 I'm sure you all remember when CD players were introduced and most of them looked like modified cassette/tape decks - before BeoSystem 2500 and later BeoSound 9000 came along. Would be great if we could see something like this again - but now for a new media. But I guess a brave CEO (Knutsen) and chief designer (Lewis) is mandatory? Roger
