There is a tv - and there is a BV
For what its worth i spoke to my dealer today.
While he was aware the Eclipse would continue only until late 2019, he was fairly dismissive of the idea that there would be no more BV's. ( He was aware of the recent conference in DK, though cant quite recall if he was there).
From his understanding, there would be a follow on from the Eclipse - though what is changing (according to his understanding) is that there will be no more smaller TV's (40, 46 etc), hence the end for the Horizon and others available in smaller sizes. They will offer only larger screen sizes - cant recall the starting size (55 or 65).
One option that has been floated is to take the wallpaper TV from LG, and incorporate it into a BV design / system. Again according to him, the wallpaper LG is not selling, simply as it is too pricey for the LG customer base, and hence may make more sense to a B&O clientele.
Anyway, don't shoot the messenger.

Certainly would be less marmite than the Eclipse design.
Been thinking about next upgrade path - and having played with a Bild 7 today, its screen looks truly top notch, and the menus / Ui is wonderfully elegant.
But for all that you can setup BeoLab speakers to work both with a Loewe TV (watching stuff) and an audio system (listening to music), its not quite as neat as with a BV as a hub. And thats before you get to multi-room audio, which is a frequent use case for me.
So, i'm happy to wait, and not in any desperate hurry, whatever the future is for BV's.

Their critique of course also applies to the Eclipse, which they were a bit generous with last year when they reviewed it. Since that review they are being more stringent on the TV's OS, and overall non-PQ experience.
Anyway, the one aspect of their review i do agree with wholeheartedly is that a good part of the experience is built around customers using an aerial directly into the TV, which is just not relevant to many. I dont use the over the air aerial, havent for years, and dont know anyone that does. If you use a set top box, that part of the TV's appeal is just cut off to you.
The app selection on the Loewe is obviously a bit quirky - that bit doesn't bother me, as Apple TV's (et al) are better at that sort of thing. And as i mentioned previously, i'd be more worried about Netflix not playing nice with Loewe than with LG.
The aesthetic of the Bild's menu system though is very elegant.
Anyway, a Loewe / BeoLab integration isn't for me, lacking multi-room audio in the way the BV's provide, amongst other things.
I'll wait to see next year if there are further BV's to come, or not.
