This is the second Archived Forum which was active between 1st March 2012 and 23rd February 2022
following a longer trial period I've boxed her up again and set her away, excellent reception for such an old girl. Muting works a treat now too as does the AFC......stereo kicks in great also. So the whole thing has boiled down to two faults.....stereo transistor AC187 shorted across emitter and collector, and one or maybe both AF106 and TI401....I will never know as I replaced them both, and they turned out to be JFETS anyway.
