How to make it work with the Beosound Shape. Any ideas?

Firstly it’s a lot more reliable than the Essence remote

Bizarrely we have had two separate incidents where clients want a physical remote instead of relying on an app; for example their iPhone might be on charge in another room upstairs so they can continue to pick up a remote and select radio. Another client said when he has guests and he’s not present they can use the radio easily as they wouldn’t have the app on their devices.

I think it’s slightly more polite to use a remote instead of a phone when you have friends over, every time someone picks up a phone it’s like they’re not interested in what’s going on around them.

Just some of my thoughts for now.

Exactly this, this is why it should’ve been there from the start. Especially when they used the core in the shape as it seems to be aimed at more commercial places. Imagine using an app there or an essence remote that drops out... hotel staff would have no way, let alone no idea how to fix it/how to do volume controlStick out tongue your customers are not the only ones that asked for this, it’s been a discussion topic for a while now. and yes(mostly because) looking at your phone is annoying in company.

Most Shape/Core owners have had the opportunity to add the ir-eye for a while now.

If it is just about the basic remote controls, a Beo4 or a BRONe in ir-mode will do the job.

That said - the BT-pairing will add some benefits.....

.....that we are about to find out about right now (since there is no official document or announcement of it).

MM

There is a tv - and there is a BV

I am using a Beo 4 for Deezer and Tune  In with my Essence. Am ordering a BeoRemote One for use with my Core. I have an Essence paired with it which works flawlessly but there are times I wish I could control the Core with my Beo 4.
