Wonder if it still makes plasticy popping sounds?
Jeff
I'm afraid I'm recovering from the BeoVirus.
Jeff: Wonder if it still makes plasticy popping sounds?
This is the most important question.

@CB : no sign of a new version on the site... Maybe they removed the new page, discovering a bit late that it could lower the sales on this Christmas season?

with beautiful music! :)
That's funny: the video could have been shot with an old A9 as there is no visual of any new speaker opening! Maybe it's on the already opened part in the lower end... Or maybe they are still trying to add the speakers somewhere, and the release is due in 2020

And a new RRP - it's now £2000 in the UK. I'm sure it was £1699 when I purchased mine not *that* long ago?
No Google Assistant - but Spotify is still on board.
Can’t find anything about the new/additional drivers on the back - maybe they just moved two from the front to the back 🤔

Trice as much watts for only 300 quid more....that’s a good deal 😉
With the newer version, prepare to see some MK2 stock dumped at crazy prices around the world.
The latest price rise on the A9 isnt that far from a Beosound Edge now...

Jon:I got a brand new A9 mk2 for £1290 this week which isn’t too bad (should have been ~£110 more but bought a BS35 and it sounded rubbish and the firmware was stuck in 1.4.blah and I couldn’t update without the firmware files, and Peter Tyson were amazing and swapped it out for a brand new and higher priced A9 at no extra cost instead of fixing it for me). Shame the mk3 wasn’t out to directly compare when they swapped it, but i love the mk2 anyway not noticed a single thing wrong with it which seems strange for BeoPlay 😂

Native Spotify Connect and the USB port are removed. But it still has Chromecast, so you can using that for connecting with Spotify.
It as Airplay 2 and improved wifi.
They say it has an improved streaming platform. What that exactly refers to I don't know. But it might be a more capable processor, to safeguard against future updates to Chromecast which might require more power. That is what killed Spotify Connect on the mk1.
Deezer and Tune-in are still there.
The danish price is increased by 2000dkk to 18.500dkk.
Beovision Eclipse gen2 (GX) w/ floorstand, Beolab 14.2, 4 speaker Shape and ATV4/Chromecast.
Beoplay A9mk4 GVA, Beosound 1 GVA, H2, H3, H8, E6, Beoplay EQ
I realized that what I saw was the old specs - but did not come to correcting myself.
So thanks.
I did not expect Spotify Connect to stay - so that explains it.
Just wondring - no Google Assistant....after we have seen this praised as the new black in the BS1/2.
Do you know anything there.
ino it must be much better soundwise - otherweise I’d personally rather go for a 2nd gen....at a much lower prize right now.
Nothing I've seen points to Google Assistance. But you are right, leaving it out seems odd. It shouldn't be features like this that differentiate the B&O and Beoplay lines.

My observation as an A9 owner would be....do you really need the watts? The A9 is incredibly powerful - I always have to turn it down!
Personally, like the other commentators above, I'd be tempted to see what MK2 deals come on to the market.

"You think we can slap some oak on this thing?"
moxxey:do you really need the watts?
leosgonewild:I am struggling using GA with my Pentas. At a certain volume it does not work anymore
Have you tried yelling at it 😉

I've had my A9 since the initial release. Was one of the first to get it. And I too has experienced the popping noises. It seems to be related to temperature changes which makes the plastic expand at different rates. But to be fair I cannot remember when it has happened last, and to be honest I really don't see why people makes such a big deal out of it? We can all agree that it shouldn't happen, but it being a deal breaker seems like an overreaction.

Howzit:Well, it’s enough of a sound that we all know exactly what we are talking about.... It’s markedly louder than anything at the time it usually happens, in the wee hours of the morning... so while it’s not the biggest noise in the world, RELATIVE to other noises at the time it typically happens, makes it RELATIVELY MORE annoying than it should be. Additionally, for paying that price, coupled with fact that the company that makes it, deservedly touts and toots about how great it is.... then it puts the impetus on having it not happen at all; just out of principal, and justifying the self-pat on the back it demands. If the brochure says look how it glitters, then it had better be gold so to speak... Howzit: It’s pretty loud as it is, Iv never used the volume at max, so as a typical guy, seeing the generous increase in wattage makes me want it even more!!! Lol

That's the point I was trying to make above - how do people fall for this? Already super-powerful, they add some wattage and people want it thinking it's much better.
I still like my MK1 A9 as I can use a Beo remote to control it. Essential for me. And I don't get any plastic popping noises at all.
In the mean time... Anyone got hold of the new specs or pictures?
Karel.

Duels:........It’s nice to have the extra power but I’m really not sure why.

Bragging rights! Remember that in order to get a set of speakers to sound twice as loud requires 10 times more power. The easier way to get loud, of course, is to increase the efficiency of the speakers, but without going to horns that's not easy either.
