The Node is, i doubt, going to be much or any improvement over a Core.

Of course, its better reviewed than `Sonos products, but with something as capable as the 50’s, I’d look to a proper high end streamer if you are indeed thinking of upgrading from the Core.

My two cents, for what its worth.

I have considered some high end streamers also. I am not sure I would notice any improvement with them either.

in which case you have your answer then....

Joking aside, its a tricky one I think.

I don't believe all DACs are created equal etc etc, but as to where an individual stops on the low-medium-high end streamer curve, well thats an individual subjective choice I guess. If I had 50's, I'd like to get the best out of them and would tinker, but thats just me. I certainly wouldn't settle for Spotify at 320kg streamed from my phone or some such, but again, thats just me,

The additional complication is that some high end streamers have their own UI for controlling the music experience, and some are better than others from what I understand. So its a two fold problem to me.

Auralic seems to make very well received streamers and their software UI is supposed to be pretty good.

Auralic is the one I have been considering.

For those of us in the dark ages, it seems to display on the Moment too both in app and on its display itself, now showing FLAC

Does anyone know if BeoSound Core & BeoSound Essence Mk2 now support Deezer HiFi?

My Essence mk2 gives the "flac" indication, using the B&O app.

I use an Essence Mk2 connected to Lab5's. When upgrading from Deezer Premium to Deezer HiFi I was unable to distinguish much difference in sound quality. Whilst the B&O app is showing flac I just wondered if that was what the speakers are receiving. Would be interesting to know if anyone else has tried switching between 320 kbps and 1411 kbps within the Deezer app to see if they can distinguish a difference?
