mbolo01:The remote function and the NL Multiroom are two different and independent things I'm afraid. BS Moment, BS Core, BG 4002, BC 4500, BS1, BL18, BL19, BL8000 + RCV1, A6, M5, M3, A1, P6 (tks Botty), H5, TR1
moxxey:I thought you said you cancelled it as it doesn't support many of your devices? Not convinced I'd get one if I was playing my BL50s and it couldn't control the volume. The Halo just reminds me of a sphere BeoRemote One. Similar screen, idea and materials. Just 3x the price.

beojeff:I'm in the US and received my first one (bronze table) last Thursday on the launch date. I just ordered my second one (bronze table) yesterday. It seems that the color choice could have something to do with the availability. If you look at the B&O website, it shows the natural and brass table models are sold out. However, the bronze table model and all colors of the wall model are available.
A NL remote control (v.s. IR or BT) such as the Halo or the B&O app uses http and other web type of service/protocol like JSON to query and control a NL product.
To illustrate what I mean, you can use your favorite browser (Safari, Chrome, Firefox, IE, etc...) and type the following URL:
http://<IP address of your B&O product>:8080/BeoNotify/Notifications
sample: http://192.168.1.111:8080/BeoNotify/Notifications
It will return some raw information about your product status such as its friendly name, the active source or the current volume level, that the NL remote will nicely display on its display.
The NL Multiroom protocol, if we can name it a protocol as I don't know the technical details of it, enables a synchronized distribution of music data stream amongst the relevant products. B&O, Sonos, Yamaha, Denon etc... all have their proprietary solutions.
If B&O removes NL Multiroom from their systems, leaving only AP2 and CC for Multiroom music experience, this will not impact the Halo, nor the B&O App, remote capabilities.

And how would you then initiate the Join/Expand functions?
MM
There is a tv - and there is a BV
Millemissen:And how would you then initiate the Join/Expand functions?
I guess the Join feature would die with NL multiroom.
On top of the relevant applications the AP/CC Expand function could be integrated into the Halo, this could be part of a product software upgrade that would give the Halo superior integration of the AP/CC layers and a broader control over any AP/CC capable device? A pure guess again
The 2 outstanding features of the Halo:
1: it uses a network protocol (instead of bt).....maybe the most important..
2: It has a comfortable - and very responsive - volume ring.

Waiting for a BeoRemote One/WiFi.

AND/OR backlit buttons!
The simplicity of 'join, possibilities of product integration are only a few of the best parts of the B&O ecosystem. Sad to see that go.

Sure......and with Qi wireless charging ;-)
My second Halo arrived today. While setting it up, it occurred to me that B&O did not include a wall socket adapter. I know there are may reasons for not including it, such as country universality. Still, for $900....

This is not about the money/the price - it’s about e-waste.
But, they could have included a voucher for a free charger in order to let the costumer make the decision.

Right. You could use one of your extras Apple (and every other class brand) gives EVERY time you buy a product from them. They force the customer to make the decision whether or not they need the charger they paid for.

Rumor is the new iPhone will not include a wall charger or ear phones. Samsung did not supply ear phones with their recent Note 20/Note 20 Ultra (although you could request them through support).
The companies say it's about e-waste, but I think it's also about $$$. If it wasn't about $$$, they'd make it easy to get one "on request" (like Samsung did with their headphones... although I don't know how long that deal will last)
Razlaw:Finally have tracking info on my Halo. The more I read about it, the more eager I am to get it.
Excellent! Which color did you get?
beojeff:Excellent! Which color did you get?
Razlaw: beojeff: Excellent! Which color did you get? Silver, or I guess the correct term is natural. Table version with charger.

I look forward to seeing photos of it in your home.
FYI, once you unbox the Halo, it won't make the initial "wake up" just from sitting on the charger -- even though it comes fully charged. You have to actually plug the USB cable directly to the Halo to start it. After that, you can use the charger. I was perplexed at first as to how to turn it on. Also, the necessary software upgrade takes awhile and you'll think the Halo has gone dead for awhile. You just have to be a little patient.

+1
And your pictures are gorgeous too.
I wouldn't wish too hard for a wifi remote control. Control4 recently came out with one (actually acquired an existing company and re-engineerd it) and it's been enough trouble that we've stopped selling it. Had the same issue with Savant. They require network fiddling that few other devices do. I long for the days of good reliable IR.
Just picked up my silver Halo from the local dealer. What a lovely piece of kit.
Note that a lot of them require a reset before they appear on the app. Gently remove the front cover with a toothpick and hold down reset for 10 seconds.
The screen is definitely not laggy and the volume control is instant compared with my essence BT remote.

New software versions number for all products the Halo can control have been made public already, I doubt they can stay 6 months before deploying them , do you?
They can deploy new software with some regularity of course.
But we dont know, specifically, what this numbered release will add do we? (happy to be corrected)
Anyway, I'd be stunned if a few weeks after releasing a new product without some much needed product coverage, that they suddenly add it so soon.
Their record is on the contrary is very slow in addressing major missing functionality.
I'd present the non-functioning My Buttons on the Eclipse (9 months?), the Balance (many months and counting), the stagnant app development as exhibits for the prosecution! And thats before we get to the Moment. And I'm sure there are other examples.

Not sure what happened to my previous post, but it was seriously truncated :-) I meant: New software versions number for all products the Halo can control have been made public already, I doubt they can stay 6 months before deploying them , do you?
Sorry my bad, I thought you were suggesting products not initially controllable by the Halo will not be included with this update.
thats the bit I'd doubt - but I dont think thats what you were suggesting anyway, so apologies.

One thing I'll mention after using my Halo for a few days - the battery life is fairly poor. Warned of a low battery after only 5 days and fairly light use.
Anyone else found this?
