B&O has had tremendous potential since 2001, when iTunes and streaming began to arrive. But the company has until recently refused to mine it - as if the people in Klondyke insisted on throwing away the yellow stuff, because they were looking for a particular kind of rock.
Tremendous potential, because their active speaker technology was a perfect fit for how people now do playback, and B&O could have gotten out in front of the pack in a big way. But it's not too late, and PLAY is a good move. B&O do not make boring speakers, they are wonderful to look at - and today, all you need is an interface between your device that connects you with a world of music, and the speakers that make it happen.
Good times ahead. (But they could have been mining this ore in a big way as early as 2004 ... )
