Premium brand (should) = premium presentation, premium press releases, premium marketing, time and care.

$2 shop = lacklustre presentation, grammatical errors, poor grammar, quick and easy.

It shouldn't matter who the presentation is for, or who it is presented to. A brand that is trying to portray a high end image, and prices its products accordingly, should act in a suitable manner at all times with all forms of communication.

Exactly my point. You don't issue a press release saying 'the icing on the cake' when describing a unique element of the £13K BV12!

I still (and always have) think he has taken on a too big of a shoe.

I like his Patek Philippe Nautilus though.

On the other hand I can understand him not being too eager on this product.... A "static remote"... What's wrong with the BEO4?!

Make the BEO4 work with WLAN instead.

It's got too many buttons that can't be used with this device.

The white box has an IR connector "for future use", so the Beo4 will one day work with it.

Why not now?? Surely reading a IR remote isn't a technical challenge these days!

A cynic would think that they are worried that if the Beo4 was enabled at launch it would cripple the sales of the Hockey puck.

So what happened to the "one remote" philosophy then?

Phil, a modified BEO4 would work with this device.

Yes of course but it'll be simpler for them to activate the remote IR eye feature by software. Otherwise people would be moaning that they've got to throw away their existing Beo4!

The thing only needs 6 buttons, what will you do with all the others? And you'll still need 2 remotes, as you'll still need an iPad to choose source and playlist. This new concept is clearly not targeted at owners of existing setups.

Also i think the Beo4 concept needs to be freshened up. Even in a moderately large setup, too many things are managed by the unique LIST button. While the source names CD, RADIO don't really mean anything for internet music users. The Beolink 1000/5000/7000 had a better concept with the separate SOUND and PICTURE buttons rather than a unique LIST button.

The new Beo4 should have an AUDIO SOURCE and a VIDEO SOURCE button which list sources that you could name (Spotify, Internet Radio... Sky, Apple TV) and revive the SPEAKER and PICTURE buttons. It should also add a HOME button to control the home automation system. All these buttons would act as the current list button, but it'll be faster and more intuitive to find the right command.

I thought I was in completely the wrong thread. LOL. Funny how threads take a completely off-topic twist.

You're right, I actually thought I was talking in the New Besound Essence thread which I also subscribe to, and was surprise when I received the Beoworld email that this wasn't!

Between the challenges of being a CEO of a niche player in the global consumer electronics business and the feedback from this thread to consider, the pressure on him must be incredible.
