Hello,

I have recently bought a BG 5500 that refuses to spin, the platter is stuck or blocked.

To open the TT I had even to disconnect the carriage wire to move the tone arm and detector to the center position to raise the system.

Gears are block, no spins, I guess something (gear) most be out of postion but I can't see anything in the wrong position.

¿Did someone experiment the same problema? ¿Any recommendation to fix it?

¿Is it possible to find a clear description of how to dismantle the pinions and gears?

Any help would be more tan welcome.

Thanks you so much

Did you loosen the transport screws?

"You think we can slap some oak on this thing?"

Hi,

Yes I did.

I have encouraged myself to dissamblenging the upper pinion, the ones which move the arm, I'm on this.

I think that the gear was out of place.I will come back with my findings and hopefully sa soliution.

Thanks

Hi Leos,

Solved!

The big gear was out of place.

Now seems that will work.
