Hi there,

can anyone point me to infos regarding adding "PC" to an older Beo4 that doesn't have that command? Looking for a table or so of equivalent commands.

thanks

Torsten

Not sure that it will help on Beo4, but SHIFT STORE is equivalent.  Full list follows:

Beo 4    Beolink1000 MkI & II    Beolink 1000 MkIII & IV

[red]        [SHIFT] [<]                   [SHIFT] [\/]

[blue]       [SHIFT] [>]                  [SHIFT] [/\]

[green]     [SHIFT] [<<]                [SHIFT] [<<]

[yellow]    [SHIFT] [>>]                [SHIFT] [>>]

[MENU]    [SHIFT] [TEXT]              [MENU]

[LIGHT]    [SHIFT] [LINK]              [LIGHT]

[GO]        [PLAY]                          [PLAY]

[DTV]      [SATELLITE]                  [SAT]

[DVD] **     [SHIFT] [CD]                [SHIFT] [SAT]

[PC]         [SHIFT] [STORE]           [SHIFT] [STORE]

 [DVD2]    [SHIFT] [V.TAPE]           [SHIFT] [V.TAPE]

[V.AUX]    [SHIFT] [TV]                 [SHIFT] [TV]

[A.AUX]    [SHIFT] [RADIO]           [SHIFT] [RADIO]

"N.RADIO"    [PHONO]                   [PHONO]

"N.MUSIC"    [SHIFT] [A.TAPE]       [SHIFT] [A.TAPE]

[STAND]       [PICTURE]                [PICTURE]

(Not exact link, on Beo4 use V.SETUP (for TUNE) then LIST for PICTURE

[SPEAKER]    [SOUND]                  [SOUND]

[RESET]       [RESET]               [SHIFT] [MUTE]

[TURN]       [SHIFT] [SOUND]      [SHIFT] [SOUND]

Thanks for that. I don't seem to have STORE on my Beo4 either. Strange...

What is the EEPROM version of your Beo4?

You can find out by pressing  the STAND-BY and LIST button simultaneously, then press MENU and GO button simultaneously to see EEPROM version.

Thanks for that hint: 3.0 is what it says...

Unfortunately that means your Beo4 was produced prior to 2006 and likely to be quite lot before that date and will not have PC in the LIST

Yep - I figured that. My question was: is PC (like some other commands such as N.MUSIC) a "recycle" of an older command - and if so, which one?

cheers

PC is not a recycle, and I think the SHIFT STORE workaround will only work on Beolink 1000.

PC was introduced to Beo4 at SW3.4.

One further thought: Have you tried adding SHIFT and V.SETUP to your Beo4's LIST.  It's a longshot but pressing V.SETUP brings up a new list that includes STORE, hence you could try SHIFT STORE.  I very much doubt that this will work, but worth a try!

doesn't seem to work...maybe a timing issue as hitting "Shift", flipping through to V.Setup and finding "Store" takes a while...

This is correct, but as stated will only work on a Beolink 1000.

Your options are to get a later version of Beo4 or a Beolink 1000

No, but you can buy an upgrade kit for it/new board and keypad.

Whether that is cheaper or not than buying a newer old Beo4, is hard to tell - depends on where you are located, I guess.

There is a tv - and there is a BV
