Hello B&O fans,
I recently bought a Beotime wall clock for my father in law, a huge B&O fan!
It wasn't very cheap (150 euro), but I really can't say if it's an original clock yes or no.
It doesn't really matter, I think my father in law will love it anyway.
But still I'm very curious. I read the real clock has a Junghans clockwork, this one says only "german quartz".
I really hope you can help me!!!
Below some pictures of it, maybe you can say if it's a real clock and maybe from which date?
It is a thin aluminium plate without rubber edges on it, it is printed.

New quartz movements are often just substituted for failed original movements, the repairer just using whatever is to hand rather than sourcing a Junghans branded one.

Looks like I can't edit faster than you can sort out your multiple images!
Looking at the front I would say it's original and not a turntable conversion, but there are others here who may have a better idea.
That scratch is going to be difficult to deal with.... But again, there are those on the forum like Leslie who manage the impossible when it comes to restorations!
I can't tell real ones from repros, but the scratch looks like a tool has slipped while the movement has been removed/installed, so it's likely that the original has been swapped as Graham suggested.

Faceplate and arms looks to be original Beotime.

The Beotime wallclock was produced in many different variations.The first ones had the Beogram 4000 platter with the raised ribs, laterthe Beogram 6002/8002 platter design was used.
Beotime was also produced with red hour markings rather than white andit was also produced in all white/red design
and sometimes even with stores names.

Yeah, you're right! As long as your father in law is happy with it why bother if it's original Junghans or another brand. Both are still cheap plastic.
