Back home so time to work on my Beovoxes doing reclothing and refoaming...

Pins broken so I'm gonna use hook and loop to get the frets attached to the S45's.

Works great!

Few more M70's, S80's to do and I'm done....

Finished my white 6500 set which had those uggly white/yellowished plastic parts on top and and at the sides that also came came loose. Replaced it wit polished stainless steel mirror panels.

Sounds great with the MS150's. Now let's see how it sounds with my white Beovox Cona and white CX100's.

I really like the way you refurb these RL 45 -2 ! I never saw the white one....

I'm eager to see your work on the 901 (I like the design of this small amp) !

Just finished a complete restoration of a BeoMaster 1500. Beautiful design, inside and out. With DC Direct-coupled amplifiers, same as the BM2000, 3400, 4000, and 4400.

Complete disassembly, clean and polish the wood and aluminium, replace all capacitors, potis, dial cord with fishing tackle, recalibrate.

I haven't had B&O in for a while, but I've got a couple of BeoGrams in for restoration now, so I'll be busy.

Leslie, how do you restore the transparent acrylic sliders so clearly?

After they've been cleaned with some unknown cleaner, they are cloudy inside. My normal Meguiars Acrylic polish did not help at all, because the problem is INSIDE.

Menahem, I put my acrylic in pure citrus dishwasher soap and let it stay in for a few days. Makes it brighter but no guarantee that the yellow haze will dissapear.

That's a complete restoration Menahem. I don't do such things, it's not worth the money for this old junk but it's fun to get my hands on. It will be repaired though by my good friend Ipaul.

Maybe the yellowing can be reversed with hydrogen peroxide / oxy action combined with UV light?

Check this out: http://www.exisle.net/mb/index.php?/topic/59657-de-yellowing-plastic-the-stain-isnt-permanent-after-all/

It is said to work on yellowed nintendos and lego and other old plastics. Maybe the clear B&O plastic also has bromine flame retardant added.

Great job on your restorations!

Beomaster 901 was modified a couple of times during production.
Two speaker sockets on some, four on others.
Plastic side panels with veneer on most, a few with veneered aluminium panels.
Different type of output transistors with different mounting methods and cooling fins accordingly.
Different mains transformers.

Strange lettering on the bottom of the middle alu strip... Did you work it out ? Whistle

Forgot my P50 speakers which needs a restoration. Perfect match with my white BM6000 and 4ch. Beogram 6000. So let's go...

Gonna dismantle all parts of the P50's first.

All drivers okay Smile

New caps

Oops! One corner damaged... Need to fix that.

Repair of the frets.

Alu trims sanded to make them shiny again.

Rusty screws?

Cloths to be cleaned using hot steam.

Ready to paint, they already were in perfect condition but one has (had) a damaged corner that has been fixed. Just to avoid any mismatch in the white color I will paint them again (off white)

The rest will follow tomorrow. Tomorrow a beautifull day so definetely I will finish this restoration.

Nooit gedaan.
