Hello,

Does anyone know how to configure the BeoVision11 to turn OFF the screen while sending audio to a Beolab18?

I have an ATV3 connected to the the BeoVision11.
I'm using AirPlay to send audio to the ATV3.
The Beolab18 WiSA speakers  sound amazing.
But I don't want anything to show up on the screen while listening to music :( So how can I turn it off?

Friends have suggested creating a slideshow of black images (well,.. one black image).
Other friends have suggested just turning the Brightness and Contrast down to a minimum.

Surely someone has found a better eco-friendly solution?

'P.Mute' from 'List'.

If you use the audio-only function often, you could 'move' the 'P.Mute' entry to the first place in the 'List' - makes things a bit easier.

And welcome to Beoworld Smile

P.MUTE = Picture Mute should work.

Can't help you more, don't have a BV 11.

Search the Forum, I guess the info is here somewhere...

Heh BeoGods,..
THANK-YOU for your fast turn-around on this!.. I should have started by forumming before anything else :)

So I understand that I should just hit the LIST button on my remoteControl and then choose P.Mute., right?

Um... No can do. When I hit that LIST key, nothing happens. :(
Nothing shows up on the screen, so I can't choose the P.Mute as per instructions :(
Searching in the pdf (http://www.bang-olufsen.com/~/media/Files/User%20Guides/BeoVision11/Getting%20Started/EN_BV11_new.pdf) doesn't reveal how to get my LIST button working :(

I CAN hit Menu> Configuration> Image> etc. with appropriate response on the television.
So I don't think my remoteControl is powerless.
None of the apps BeoRemote, BeoLink, BeoSetup on my iPad help either :(
although BeoSetup does still find my BO A8 in the kitchen it does not see the BeoVision11 so no joy there either.

Thanks for the help.

ps. Sorry for the double posting. I initially posted in GeneralQuestions but then later found the Mac centric forum which seemed more appropriate. Then, I couldn't find my original post in order to to delete that one. argh.. It's one of those days.

I suppose, that you have the Beo4 as a remote.

You'll find the userguide here:

http://www.bang-olufsen.com/da/customer-service/product-support/accessories/remote-controls/beo4-w--navigation-button

This explains you howto add entries to the 'List' and how to use these.

As one of the maaaany hidden 'buttons' you will find 'P.Mute'.

When you see that in the display of the Beo4 - not on the tv screen - you just hit 'Go' or push the navi-button.....

.....and the curtains are drawn/the tv-screen will turn black after a moment.

Feel free to ask again, if needed!

The BeoSetup app is for setting up the AirPlay-based devices.

No use for that with the BV11.

??? Who did set up your BV - did you get no introduction in the many features???

Hello again,
and thanks for the hand-holding.

I googled  ' Beo4 remote' and saw some pictures. Yes that my remote.

Ok.. so in the manual I am reading, Press and hold the Standby Button.
Small problem,.. there is no button marked 'Standby' on the remote.
I thought that perhaps it was the power button,.. no go.
I thought that perhaps it was the centre joystick button.. no go.
I tried all the other buttons (holding them down).. no go.
I tried pushing the back of the remote control (perhaps there is a hidden touch sensitive button).. no go.
I searched for a tiny hole, just in case I might stick a pin in it to reach the standby button.. no go.

I love the BO products... but I have to say that a few hours into this problem... and I'm a little ready to give up (again).

But thanks for your patience with me.

p.s. I dunno it if helps to mention that my Apple TV is attached to HDMI 1 and it is assigned to the V.MEM button. I works fine btw,.. and it's so nice to be able to navigate the ATV menus using the BO Remote.I just wish I could understand this LIST button thing.. and get access to the famous video mute.

The stand-by button is the off button on the bottom row marked with a red dot

oops,.. my bad.
I just found it in the manual... http://www.iconic-av.co.uk/manuals/beo4_userguide_english.pdf

"The red standby button switches your Bang & Olufsen system off"

So I guess the red button is the 'standby button'.

So I go back to the instructions on how get the LIST to work..
1. Press and hold the standby button down.... got it. (but it turned by tv of and nothing else happened).
2. Press LIST to get access to the Beo4 setup function.
3. Let go of both buttons. ADD? appears in the display.

OMG!.. I realised my mistake.
I stupidly followed the instructions my way..
I pressed and held the standby button down. After 10-30 seconds I gave up and moved onto step 2.

I guess I should have realised that the instruction meant:
1. While holding down the red button (also known as the Standby Button), press the LIST button.
2. etc.

Chalk my stupidity to New Year's Eve party aftereffects :-) <sheepish grin>.

Sorry to say it - but in case you don't know, that the button with the red dot is the standby-button,

you probably never turned off your BV11 Unsure

All the buttons (even the Standby-button) are explained in the 'Getting Started' guide of the page in my link above.

Means - you press the 'red dot button' and the 'List' button simultainously (use two fingers) and let go.

You'll see an entry in the display with an ? - you can then either activate that entry with the push of the navi-stick or go to next entry with a push on the 'List' button etc, etc.

See userguide for more.

YEAH!... Yippee! It works!

ok.
For those coming late to the party with the same question (and intelligently reading this forum post backwards).
SOLUTION: worked for me on a Beo4 remote control

If you want to listen to audio without and video, do this:
1. Press the LIST button on your remote.
2. On the display of the remote (no.. not the display of your television) find the P.Mute entry and choose that (navigate that menu with your joystick on the remote and then choose by pushing in the joystick).

In the event that pushing LIST does nothing,
1. While holding down the Red-button (aka 'standby button') push the LIST button.
2. select the ADD entry display in the top screen of your remote (no.. not the television display).
3. select AV,
4. scroll through all the options until you see P.Mute, and select that.
5. long press the BACK button on the remote.
now that LIST button will behave as you expect it.
