After an alcohol fuelled EBay.com purchase some time ago, my completely rebuilt and restored Beomaster 8000 has arrived from a land far away...

Many tasks and repairs were undertaken during the restoration process, of which I shall try my best to document on here over the coming week. Unable to find a repairer here in the UK I left the amp in the states to be repaired by an amazing chap, Rudy. He blogs under the name 'beolover'.

Yes, granted, I took a bit of a risk and put my faith in a man I had never met. I kept my fingers crossed, and was rewarded with a superb piece of kit, expertly and attentively repaired to the highest standards.

Maybe the gamble is not for everyone but I tend to be of the optimistic nature and look at most things in life through the thickest of rose coloured spectacles. Not always rewarded for doing so though!

Now if I could just remember how to post pictures again???......

eBay need to introduce a breathalyser! - I have bought stuff on there after one too many glasses of wine, most of it in my attic now awaiting funds to restore it by a professional - really pleased for you - great to get something restored and have many many years of enjoyment from it.

That made me laugh! Laughing

I read, a few years ago, eBay statistics revealed that the highest prices achieved for auctions on 1970's and 1980's lower-priced classic cars happen if the auction finishes between 11pm and 1am on Friday and Saturday nights.

What really made me chuckle was the fact I've surfed 1980's classics before, at about that time!! Geeked

PS - Great news on the 8000 'resto'.  Definitely one worth saving and already a classic.

OK...here is the first bit... I thought links may be better than a load of huge photos.

So a few wines in...Beomaster 8000 purchased off EBay.com,

ahh how to fix it..no joy here so found a guy in the Tampa Fl...retailer sent amp on to him for free...

so the saga starts...

initially the plan was to make it stable then ship it back to me in the UK...oh how wrong I was...
