Beogram 3000 innard switching between two decks

Hi all,


I have two BG 3000 decks type 5228, one with pre-amplifier and one without. The one without is much nicer on the outside so I'm thinking about switching the internal parts between the two.
 Is there's anything that would prevent this from being possible? As I see it the attachments to the top plate looks the same.


Another thing, in the one with pre-amplifier it looks like someone at some point replaced the DIN cable to a thinner one without outer shield. I want to replace it with an original cable but looking at where the cable is soldered on something looks odd. I'm thinking someone connected the inner shield to where the outer shield would go. The black wire from there goes to the mute switch. I had a BG 1200 pre-amp up until recently and the wiring on that one looks more like it should be. See images below.


What do you guys think?
