Having offered our MX to my brother , I find it difficult to believe that these TVs appear to have no value on the Ebay !

Ok , the picture is small but superb and the sound so good.

Agreed, but you cannot give away a CRT these days. Remember it has a redundant analogue tuner only and a Samsung flat screen will simply do more and take up less space. You and I both know the picture is better on the vast majority of stations and the sound in a different league. But i speak as someone with three CRTs in regular use!! Smile

Don't let it confuse you! Geeked

There's little to no demand for CRT's, really.  We just like to have at least one of something - and in this case it's a very low usage, mint condition, one owner example. If it had any less credentials than this - it would have gone to eBay, or worse - the dump.

That price reflects the fact it's in the condition it is, and also the fact it comes with a warranty. It also factors in a profit - which is pretty important to a trading company, and also the government who take 20% VAT and also Corporation Tax (they like that..)

Are CRT's desirable? No.

Do CRT's have a lovely image quality and great sound? Yes.

Are CRT's great value if you don't care about the latest gadget fashions? Yes.

Will they be worth anything in 3-5 years when you wish to sell them on? No.

It's a choice the buyer has to make, armed with the information above.

460 euro for a outdated TV? It doesn't even come with a remote...

I had a nice LS4500 on motor stand and Beolink 1000 I found in the "for free" section of the local newspaper two years ago. Awesome picture quality and the same good experience I remembered with my last CRT (an LX2802N which was given away in 2008.)

I am in the process of 'cleaning up' (moving from home this summer), thus donated the set to one of the local charity shops; they usually sell them for £20-30 including a Beolink 1000 remote, and they disappear quickly!

Vinyl records, cassettes, open reel, valve amplifiers and film photography.
