I don't know, one way or another it looks quite...hmmmm, good!

There must be one someday on this Ebay planet who's willing to pay that amount of money.

Well perhaps =). I think that they at least could have used the correct font. It is not so hard to get. Now it has the wrong font on the aluminium plate.

Interesting design but I think it is a bit strange anyway :).

Would love to see more complete photos of it.

Maybe an Idea for you Leslie when you get to the point of BS9000 refurbs ?

They seem to have an all black version as well.

BYW, Love all your picture documented posts.

What a load of Jackson Pollocks...

Why replace the laser in a 219***** serial BS9000 for a start, then what's all this about fitting a new "optical fibre" ? - and worse still... since when did Bang & Olufsen make a Type 2672 "Mk4" ??!!!

I'm all for customising. Yep, I'm guilty of it - plenty of times, but there's popping a cherry on top and there's squirting ten cans of UHT cream with five tubs of hundreds and thousands and nine flakes, with sparklers.

...over the top.... and the price is a joke.  I'm surprised at B&O Yarm for putting their name against this if I'm honest, but knowing the owners they will no doubt have a good and valid reason.

That must be the Kasimir Malevitš edition... wonder how expensive that one is.

I fully agree with Lee on this, what a load of Pollocks! I must admit I quite like the design and maybe think B&O should do more like this just like the limited edition BeoLab 12's.

I might do mine in the style of the Impressionists and it would get away from having to use speakers with it Sad

we tend to forget there is more to design than designing.

Oh my god! Jackson pollock's official art group  work on that or did just somebody slap his name on?

Modernist art is freaking huge now! Is it genuine? I think I might go for it!

This will make a killer corporate gift.

Anyway so so silly that B&O isn't putting these up on the site if this is indeed legit. Just shows just shows that the current people in charge are so.....

I think this unit is more BS than BS9000 so to say. Jackson has not been with us for over fifty years and selling a unit like this for such a premium using his name makes me sad. Even if they donate "a percentage(s)" to charity.

Also, that they call it special edition when it is actually an old BS9000 that has been refurbished, and not even an official special model - nor do I know of a Mk4.

Anyways, thats just my thoughts.

Beolab 50, Beolab 8000 x 2, Beolab 4000 x 2,

I do not know why people come on this forum and talk about things they have no idea about?!

Michael, a MK4 does exist! I had puchased a MK4 in 2011. They were the very last one made by B&O. It is the ones with the Power switch on. Due to EU rules B&O had to provide a manual Switch and they placed the switched back on the last ones they made! You can speak to any dealer who knows what they are talking. They will tell you that the model changed at the end!

If they are providing a 3 year warranty... I am guessing they would want to replace all parts to ensure the customer get a newish system with all brand new parts.

I love the look of this system! It looks awesome! I am considering buying this.

I have a power switch on both my BS9000 and I can assure you that they are not Mk4. Besides, if the only change is some change to the power switch I can't see a reason to call it Mk4. And it doesn't really matter how it looks. I would not buy a BS9000 Picasso edition either. It is just fake.

You have a pair of very old MK1's.

Lee, I am only forwarding info I was told by B&O. The dealers class it as MK4 as it is a different mould that B&O had used to make the lastest version. Thats all.

So why change the MK's? So why call your old one's a MK1? Or why call a MK2 a MK2 and a MK3 a MK3? B&O do this I think.

Anyway... never mind! Have great Xmas Lee!

I can confirm that there have only been three MK's of the BeoSound 9000. The MKIII had a slight update (reintroduction of the horrible red switch) and the type number changed from 2572 to 2594 accordingly. Internally this was never regarded as a MK change. In fact who really cares? I know for sure that Lee does know his Marques and his MK's.

B&O Yarm have simply had a 9000 personalised and the monies raised will be going towards a charitable case, so fair play to them. Will they throw in a free playmaker to future proof it a bit more?

I believe this has been done off their own back and it's not endorsed by B&O HQ.

Happy Christmas to one and all.
