Just received stock of the new H7 headphones. They are the same design as the H6 - available in black or natural. Bluetooth, but without ANC - really nice and priced at £329.

Great News, any idea if for the H7 the bluetooth connection issues have been resolved? I rather would have better blue tooth connectivity over ANC

They did upgrade bluetooth a bit to 4.1 from the 'older' 4.0. Internally it is different.

I also noticed the Bluetooth update. The H8 page still says bluetooth 4.0. I think Bluetooth 4.0 chips can be upgraded to 4.1 without any hardware changes. H8 seriously need better radio communication so if it can be updated by software then this would be very good (if it even helps). Some people have problems with them, some doesn't. I've noticed that my H8 has been working quite good for a while but in colder weather they seem to work less satisfactory. Perhaps I have more clothes or there is something with the air or humidity. I have no idea. It just is not very stable.

I hope H7 is better, and that H8 will get stable. By the way, H7 does not have noice cancellation so the hardware might be much simpler. A bit confusing that it does not have it since the new H3 does. Well.

I'm still hoping for an on-ear (H5) without wireless.

I am really bummed about the H7 not having noise cancelling.

I was going to buy them also due to the bigger earpads. You dont happen to know about any upgrades to the H8. I like them the most as they have a nice color option and are also packed with all the goodies

I have the H6 and they are pretty good at removing noise just by being over-ear and "passive"

Isn't that the H8 using the supplied cable?

Sound like the H8's. They have much more oomph plus the EarPads are also much chunkier than the H6's. Great sounding headphone.

Leo is right, I tried this today to check for you whilst in was in the Dublin store. They are very similar in fit (both headphones look *almost* identical with the pads removed) but there must be a slight difference in the position of the ridge that the pads lock into when twisted.

Thx for that. Shame it wont go together, but maybe better since the H7 dont have NC.

I hope BO will come up with brown ones for the H7

Think that would look bonkers

Got my pair today. So far I love them. I used them on my phone and computer through bluetooth. The bluetooth only made a small cut out for no reason when sitting by the computer and once when I walked into another room which is understandable.

Rather big and flashy so I don't plan on using them walking down the street or public transportation.

BeoLab 18's. Beolab 3's. A8. A9. A2. H7.

Just some notes since I've been using them for 2 days heavily.

  • Signal seems pretty reliable.
  • The Box actually lists BlueTooth 4.0 while the website lists 4.1. Groan.
  • The touch controls are a disaster. It is basically impossible to control the volume without pausing your music or skipping a track. Volume adjustment very slow and awkward.
  • You have to be very careful putting them on and off your head as you are easily going to do something with the trackpad and pause the music.
  • Battery life seems good.
  • Wish they would have eliminated the few bits of plastic that remains.
  • Doesn't come with a cable that has an inline mic. Pathetic for this price.

Other than the touch controls I love them though.

Had my H7's for a couple of weeks now and have been very impressed with them.

No dropouts at all so far.

Have now got the hang of the touch controls which work well though it would be good if the volume control didn't need as many 'turns' to adjust.

The track forward /back function took a bit of getting used to but now can adjust without pausing the music....

Phone function works well but would be good if you integrate the voice control functions of the phone but I might be missing something on how to get that going.

Overall very happy though with the price of the headphones a hard cover shell case should have been included instead of the basic material bag.

Could anyone who owns, or has tried, both the H7 and the H8 say whether or not the H7 is better at cutting out noise than the H8 in non-ANC mode? That is, do the over-ear cups of the H7 do a better job than the on-ear cups of the H8 without ANC? Thanks.

I have tried both in-store.  I would say the over-ear design of the H7 (and the H6 for that matter) definitely cuts out more noise than the H8 when ANC isn't on.

I have H6s and H8s, and the H6s do block more noise than the H8s without ANC.  However, if you're on a plane, the H6s (IMHO) don't block enough noise, and the ANC is very good on the H8s.  This is how I happen to have both.

I am torn between H7 and H8.

Had to return my first pair of H8 as they had endless dropouts. Now I also see many people have issues with ANC and high-pitched sound.

As I don't care for ANC but only need a solid wireless pair when I walk around town, H7 comes as an option... ...but then some people report they are too big to be worn outside. *sigh*

Btw: anyone has these new Cenere Gray? How is BT behaving?

I bought a pair of the Cenere Grey H7 this week as I am weighing up whether or not to continue with using the H8.

A quick mini-review:

They look beautiful; the grey colouring has an understated and sophisticated appeal

They sound great - quite different from the H8. The sound is flatter than the more bass-heavy H8, but they have a lovely open sound and some of the high frequency detail is better to my ears than the H8.

Bluetooth performance so far is rock-solid with no cut-outs.

They are more comfortable to wear then the H8 simply because they are over-ear. With the H8 I always find myself adjusting the ear cups for optimum fit (which sometimes leads to the high-pitched feedback problem)

I have no problems wearing the H7 walking around outside. Yes, they're big but then everyone has big headphones on these days. Remember when it was all earbuds a few years ago?

I personally miss ANC on them. If B&O release an over-ear headphone with ANC where they've done a better job of isolating the internal ANC mic from the speaker, then I'll be buying yet another pair of headphones!

Thank you very much for the detailed insight - I think I've made my decision then. H7 it is. :)

As for the color, I was thinking of Cenere Gray too - looks classy on all photos. <3

Yep, grey H7 seems the way to go.

They would have been my choice if I wasn't that happy with my blue H6.

Im finding these headphones very uncomfortable to wear for more than an hour. It hurts the top of my head because there isn't enough padding on the headband. I have owned lots of headphones in my lifetime and these are the only ones that have ever caused me issues.

Received my pair of H7 Cenere Gray end of last week - happy to report here that there are no dropouts (still it is advisable to carry your phone in the right pocket).

They are comfortable, even if I'm wearing glasses. I mostly use them when I go out for a walk or need to take care of some errands - the grip is solid and just right.

ANC I really do not miss, I listen to my music pretty loudly plus I prefer to be able to hear at least a minimum of "outer world" sounds like cars honking, cyclist ringing etc. And honestly, I barely get any outside sound.

Some comments I've read around were saying the maximum play volume is too low, well I consider myself playing music relatively loudly and I even do not amp it up all the way to the max so...

Sound signature I think I prefer a bit against H8, there is plenty of bass with H7 but I like very much a kind of openness and transparency on midrange and high (you easily recognize it in vocals).

And yes, Cenere Gray color does not grab too much attention and is rather exact opposite design-wise from the flashy Beats and others.

Oh yes - for Apple Watch owners: Music controls in Glances now support Deezer app too, which means if you play your music via BT from Deezer you get full control on Apple Watch for volume, play/pause, next/previous and it does display song name/artist info. Just mentioning as sometimes I find it easier to pause/play on Apple Watch then with H7 touch controls.
