˙Hi ! I'm new to the forum...
I just got a BeoSystem 2500, Besides one broken glass door, I cleaned the CD Lens and the CD player started working again. However, every couple seconds, the CD player "slows down" but the music continue to play but with a scratchy sound.
What can cause the CD player to slow down the rotation of the CD ?
Also, The cassette player mecanism seems to be stuck. Anyone has a walkthrough to clean it and lube it properly ?
Thanks in advance
Anyone ?
It is quite normal that the rotation speed changes. The player needs a constant velocity, but the radius changes... so the rotation slows down.
It's different from an old record player. The track starts on the inside, not outside.
The controller needs new caps. Typical defect and it will become worse.
Replace at least C100... 47uf 16V , blue Philips axial or BC. Nothing else will work sufficient.
I know it is normal for the speed to change, however, on a 20 seconds interval, you see it slowing down and coming back up. When it slows down, the sound drops out.
Is the controller the board under the CD "pickup" or is it the one to the right of it when you look to the front of the unit ?
I checked several spots with a multimeter today. Who the sound drops out, the 15 volt line stays the same. But the 5 volt varies. I was out of time when checking but will try again when more time is avail.
I took the whole pickup out of the unit and played a CD and didn't get any drop out... But perhaps I did not test long enough....
