Hi experts,

I would like to use a Beolink Converter 1611 for the connection of a Beogram 4500  turntable to the Masterlink System.

My question is how to make a  "reset"  with the Converter 1611, because I don`t know the kind of configuration, which the last owner of the converter 1611 has used.

Thanks , julefreund

It connects and self configures.

Shouldn't need a reset.

Hi, thanks for the info.

If the 1611 configurates by itself and don`t need any special reset, why I cannot start the Beogram 4500 with the BEO4 ? I have connected the Converter with Datalink  to the Beogram and with Masterlink cable to the Masterlink system. BV7-40 on V-Opt. 2, BS 3200 with A-Opt. 0 .

Any idea ?

How many pins in the cable connector from the BG4500?  There should be 7 (2 extra screw in pins) for datalink.  Sometimes these have been removed or lost.

There are 7 pins in the datalink cable. I used it before with my BS Ouverture and it works perfekt.  I had fully control of the Beogram with the BEO4. Now after replacement of the BS Ouverture by a BS 3200 I would like to use the Converter 1611 for remote control,  but it doesn`t work. Why ??

The BL converter doesn't relay commands, it simply allows for audio pass through. Think of it as a blind audio master with a line level input.

Ah, you know... A little B&O here, a little there

That is, what I already expected. Thanks a lot to have that now finally clarified.  So I will connect the Datalink cable directly to the BS 3200 (AUX) and start the Beogram 4500 manually. The Beolink Converter 1611 is not needed for this configuration.

Regards, julefreund
