I have a new-to-me Beosound 5 and Beomaster 5. On the settings menu, between MAINTENANCE and MUSIC SERVICES (exactly midway on the arc) is supposed to be a PICTURE option. This allows you to set resolution output. This does not exist on mine. Anyone know why this may be? Is there a way to store. I've found nothing in all the various manuals, service manual, and service mode. Every other operation on this unit appears to be nominal.

Thanks,

Gregg

I looked at my Beosound 5. I do not have it either. I guess I never looked at manual close enough to see that setting.

This is an option f you use the BM/BS5 in a Fully Integrated Master Setup - that is when you connect the BM5 to a (B&O-) tv.

You then have the choice between the different outputs on the Master5 depending on the inputs there.

There is a tv - and there is a BV

MM -

Thank you. I have an Avant 32 with ML, and an Avant 55 with NL.  So if I connect the BM5 via ML to the Avant 32, the BS5 will recognize the video master and PICTURE should appear?

You can Connect to the tv using dvi out on the BM5.

I used to have that when I had pictures stored on my BM5 running on the tv as slideshows. And you can use spdiff out on BM5 to spdiff in on the BV.

Worked very well for me on my BV8-40 and BV7-55. As long as the tv is the Video Master.

Thank you, That will be a project for the weekend. I have to say, the BS5 is becoming one of my favorite B&O products. Other than the poor search facility for N. RADIO stations, it is a great product. I was surprised at how solid the old Windows XP-based software is.

I have replaced the hard drive with an ssd and that meant a world to the performance.

And my BS5 is around 10 years now and has been rock solid. The first versions had a faulty motherboard though.

We mainly use radio, sometimes our albums on BM5 and I also frequently use a.aux to listen to Spotify (via an chromecast audio connected to a Behringer USB device).

I hope you will enjoy it.
