I have a problem with my right BL4000 speaker as  I cannot get the on/off power light to change to GREEN(it is  illuminated RED)  indicating it is working, but  it will not change to Green like the speaker  on the other side of the room which is working correctly with sound.

I have swapped the left to the right and vice versa etc. The good speaker (left speaker) works fine on the right side but the fault still appears when I connect the "faulty speaker" (right speaker)on the left side indicating perhaps that it is not a cabling issue?

I have noticed recently that the speaker was "clicking" occasionally, like it was "shorting". I have checked all connections which are good.

The speakers are linked through a Beolink cable and connected to my PC via  Beoport.

I am in the Algarve in Portugal, with no dealership locally so would welcome any suggestions.

I have had the speakers about 20 years

Thank you for reading.

I had exactly the same fault on one of my BL4000's last year.  A rapid 'shorting' sort of crackle and flickering indicator lamp.  I assumed it needed repair and stopped using it.  I recently tried it again but presssed the on/off button in and out several times and it's worked perfectly ever since.

Possibly dust or oxidation on a contact but all I know is that mine now works with no problems.  All I can suggest is to try that.  Re-seat all cables again at each end and see what happens.  If it does need repair, shipping it should be relatively cheap and they are wonderful speakers so should be worthwhile saving.

Dave.

Thanks for the suggestion, which I have tried but sadly without success, thanks for taking the time.

Have a read through THIS thread which shows a BL4000 with similar problems

If you think nobody cares, try missing a couple of payments.
