It's this type

http://www.beoworld.org/prod_details.asp?pid=326

I purchased the unit off ebay. The light bulbs need replacing for the tuning meter illumination and the stereo indicator. I have found this information from a archived thread.

"Looking at the manual, I noticed that the Stereo bulb was 12v  30mA and the other two were 6v  30mA."

I think the third one mentioned is the scale slider bulb.

Can someone please advise what bulbs I should buy? These are 'wedge' type bulbs as shown here. Is it possible to suggest what I want from this bulb list at RS, then at least I know a supplier?

http://uk.rs-online.com/web/c/lighting/incandescent-light-bulbs/filament-indicator-lamps/?applied-dimensions=4294884489&esid=cl_4294967294,cl_4294958272&m=1&aaaExp=Y&sort-by=Diameter&sort-order=asc&pn=1

Do I really need bulbs rated at two different voltages? Would one type do?

BTW, the printing on the original bulbs is not too clear, but I think it says PH 6/30 on the meter illumination bulb and PH 12/30 on the stereo indication bulb.

Cheers and thanks for any help.

It can indeed be very important to use the correct bulbs in B&O equipment. Using incorrect, alternatives can lead to all sorts of problems and strange behaviors as can be read on many posts here on Beoworld.

For any bulbs, first contact should be member 'Dillen'. He usually has the correct bulbs or can give advice on what you can do.

Thank you. Will Dillen see my message or should I contact him somehow?

BTW, I wonder if anyone can help. I have obtained a service manual that only shows the tuning cord fitting and the printed circuits and components. I believe the ferrite rod is missing and wanted to confirm this with diagrams of the physical layout. Can anyone supply me with a physical layout please? If it is missing I'm happy enough for the FM and mp3 amplification only, as the M, L and SW frequencies don't work. Could I obtain a ferrite rod from somewhere?

cheers

Nick

Don't rely on him seeing it. If you search the site for 'Dillen', on one of his posts, just click on his name to take you to his Bio' page. From there, you can send him an e-mail or 'start a conversation' with him.

He'll help if he can.

Hi

Many thanks for your help. I now have several bulbs winging their way from Martin in Denmark at very reasonable cost.

cheers

Nick
