Seanie_230:Nearly in place just need Togo buy a four port switch and I can hide all the cables I love the artist appearing behind the track when playing BLGW - Rekindling the love of ML
Seanie_230:Just the penta display to figure out but I'm sure I will get there
two remarks:
1. does the setting of the switches Audio/video on the Penta's make any difference?
2. is the adapter between the Moment and the tradition PL cable correct?
Hi there
To be honest I have not touched the switches as they were on Audio before so i left them that way.
I will test it.
The adapter on the Moment is a Ethernet to PL convertor which I have the normal Powerlink cable plugged in.
the volume works fine but it says ATPE2 in the display no matter if its on or off.
Seanie,
I have never been in possession of Penta's so I can't make a comment. But I'm happy you enjoy the Moment as much as I do from the beginning, with the multiroom its getting more mature and I'm sure it will grown a lot more in the near future.
"Believe nothing you read and only half of what you see, let your ears tell you the truth."
Seanie_230:Also switched a penta to video mode and now there is no display. I'm sure someone at bang and olufsen will know the solution and I'm sure it's mapping the powerlink data.
Hi,
I don't think that there is any solution for this at the moment. Had the same issue with BS Moment and Penta II some time ago. The only source name that was shown was A.TP2. Additionally there was also the volume number on the Penta screen. Don't know why this isn't available on yours...
Seanie_230:Hi there Thank you for coming back to me. I have the volume shown. The ATP2 is shown no matter of the moment is on or off. If I use the moment the screen flicks to load tape for a new mins. Let's hope there is a fix coming. I will report to beocare

Oh, yes. I can remember that LOAD was also shown several times. The displays only switched off when I pressed the on/off switch on the base station.Personally, I don't think that they will put much effort into fixing problems with 20 years old speakers. But lets see. You should definitively open up a ticket for this. The more people are doing this the better are the chances to get that fixed.
They might be able make the displays switch on & off properly, but the source names are hard coded in the firmware of the Pentas. I very much doubt anything will happen to them as it would need a chip replacement.

They could at least show some different source names rather than always A.TP2.
E.g. RADIO for TuneIn and CD for DLNA and CD2 for Deezer. Shouldn`t be too hard but I doubt that it will happen.
Hi All
So i spoke to Bang & Olufsen today and the moment will not output the fixed data to tell the Penta speakers what to display, in fact the response was to cut the data wire.
So next question:
Can a small device be created that would for example receive from Moment xxxxdataxxxxMusic and this device set to output xxxxDataxxxxxCD
this device could receive one signal and output another like the lintonic perhaps but a very drilled down version for Speaker powerlink.
Would that be possible?
Any thoughts?
I stopped missing the 'display infos' on my BL5000 long ago.

There is a tv - and there is a BV
Seanie_230:Can a small device be created that would for example receive from Moment xxxxdataxxxxMusic and this device set to output xxxxDataxxxxxCD
Yes, of course. Mainly this is just a question of how much effort, money and time you want to put into this.
This "adapter device" should be network capable so that it can read the current source infos from the moment via the BeoRemote protocol. Then it would be able to translate and inject this information into the PL data cable.
I think i will park this at the "moment" and switch the speakers to Video and live without the display a much cheaper and easier option.
Shame but at least i had a response.
Hi all
Well after a week or so my moment is now part of the house and doing a perfect Job. It sits with the screen side up as the wooden side is not my cup of tea and will not fit with my decor, this is fine as I lost the pattern play button that's on the wooden side but i just configured one of my essence wall remote buttons in light mode to start pattern play which normally calls up the radio.
I spoke to a dealer yesterday who tells me we may see the wooden part of the moment in the same color as the lab 18's but more than likely wont be retrofit which is a shame.
My penta's have had their displays turned off and my focus now will move to saving for a V1-40 to replace my BV3-32 thats in my Bedroom and not very compatible with the gateway and i am moving NL to be honest. This will mean losing the SD TV in the bedroom so a splitter will be needed for Apple TV and SKY HD but I can live with that.
Seanie_230:my moment is now part of the house
I find myself more and more using Deezer because its so easy in use.
While I'm reading the Beoforum and some other forum's behind my iMac, I discover new music and add them to a playlist, so easy!
During the day and evening we listen to it on the Moment, its a whole new world opening to us. I never thought I would go the way of online services for our taste of music.
Now with the multiroom update, the Moment has become the centre of our enjoyment in house, almost forgotten to follow Penny Dreadful on TV.
@Chris
I guess that was the intention of the makers of the Moment :-)
how does the moment work together with the blgw or the mlgw?
Are the covers/playlist oft the music visible in the beolink app like with the beomaster/beosound5?
