Hi

I am the proud owner of a Beovision avant 55th

But the joy has a bad side.

I experience some buzz noise from Beovision Avant own speakers. Is it something other also experiencing?

It is all soundprograms, even at mute. As long there are image on the TV.

Kind Regards Pavia

Welcome to Beoworld.  If it was other speakers attached I'd say change cables but as it's the Avants own speakers that have a fault (as they should not buzz), then first step is to get the dealer you got it from to sort it out under warranty.

Dave.

Mine don't buzz. Contact your dealer they will have service come out to your house and fix. It could be a faulty wire somewhere or a loose connection.

It's sorted now :)

B&O came today and got it to work without the buzz.

Got a new one. They said that it might be a cable that had moved doing transport or otherwise.

They took the old tv back to the lab to be sure of there presumption.

I have also had problems with noise from my Avant 55 speakers, but it's repaired now.. The technicians had to change a long cable that was improperly mounted immediately behind the screen. The noise was noticable only when the screen was on, very annoying. It took a long time to figure out what the error was and basically the technicians had to change all the parts in the Avant.

Hi - I too have noticed a buzzing noise from my Avant, not from the speakers but from the panel behind the screen above the subwoofer.  It's not very loud but noticeable, especially if low level volume in operation.

It also is only noisy when picture on screen.

Wasn't sure if this was normal/getting noisier but sounds similar to your issues.  Is this where you were hearing the noise from too?

Will be contacting the dealer regardless as its bugging me!

It's the humming from the power supply I think this is normal

I've never had any buzzing noise from the in-built speakers or from behind a panel from any of the Beovisions I have had. I'd say this is not normal at all. You shouldn't be able to hear anything, especially from a new Beovision Avant. This seems to be coming up more and more and now seems to be a recognized fault or issue with build quality. Get your dealer to sort it out.

Well, typically, as soon as raised concern with dealer, the noise is back to normal levels (i.e. very quiet and can only be heard if you stick your head behind the TV right up to the panel - and is still not particularly noticeable).

Will ask dealer to log it if it reoccurs, at least I know what I was hearing before was not within normal parameters as has rectified itself for now.

Fingers x'd.....

I am having the exact same problem with my Avant. The noise comes from the upper back of the tv (when the screen is on) as you describe and is noticeable within a distance of up to 8-10 m, if the sound of the tv is muted. Of course you have to listen carefully, but the noise is there. Is this acceptable? Did you get the problem fixed?

My Avant 55 was repaired (bad glass screen) very recently. And the tv also has a distortion problem from the subwoofer that create a VERY annoying noise of shaking metal against metal or plastic.

During the repair they had issues putting it back together and now the sound is even worse. Now I am supposed to play music on it, note what volume and what I'm listening to - to get it repaired again, if even that - they want to simulate the same setting on other avants. Quite surprised by that actually. And I don't even have the energy. My grand mother passed away last week and I'm moving in December. Wait for another repair that won't help is nothing I feel like right now.

I try to use my external speakers instead of the internal subwoofer but since one of my beolab 9s (bought new last year too) turns yellow after watching a movie and switching speaker groups or just randomly sometimes I try not to use them. They also produce a bright noise from the tweeter that I'm not a fan of. Apparently it's supposed to be there (like the noise from BeoLit 15).

My first avant did not have the distortion problem so it's probably not very usual. And I can eliminate the sound if I press on the back.

Should add that they couldn't get the aluminum profile on the edge to fit as snug as before so from behind it looks worse than before but apparently I'm supposed to accept this.

Not only my avant speakers and beolab 9 has been troublesome but also the pair of beolab 8000 I won here weirdly enough. Although I've now had them repaired finally :-).

But the front speakers of my avant seems to work as they should. I can hear some strange noise from them if I put my ear up but only then.

Michael:

(like the noise from BeoLit 15).

My Beolit 15 doesn't make any sound when not in use (power on) and I have a very good ear for that !

Every BeoLit 12 and 15 I've heard make produce a slight buzzing background noise. It's easy to hear for me. But perhaps your unit is better. I've not listened to many BeoLit 15's yet.
