Hi

Recapped my BM1200 (Dillen’s kit). It works but there are some challenges I need help with.  Here is the first -

Supply Voltage (33V target)

Input is set to 110 (USA).  Am I taking the reading correctly?  If so what could be the challenge?

1. What I though I should be doing: Attach the multimeter (DC auto) to 456 and ground off the power supply board = I get 55V and it does not change as I adjust 459.

2. Tried connecting to the neutral: Attaching to 456 and the neutral line  = I get 28V, which does not change as I adjust 459.

3. Tried connecting to the 455 resistor the other side of 459 = The voltage changes (16-23V)as I adjust 459, but can not get 33V.

4. Just out of curiosity I attached across 456 and 459 = Voltage changes as I adjust 459. I can get 33V.  But, do not believe this is in any way what I am trying to accomplish.

I continued to set the no-signal currents anyway, which I could get to 7.5mV.  The unit plays an external input through Tape (slight hum as volume turned up, with no input), but of course I want to sort out the supply voltage challenge.

I took a reading off my BM1001 (which I have been using for a long time, input set to 110) and it is more like 4-5V at 456?!?  I have never opened this one up before as it has never shown any issues.  Thought it might be useful to compare.

Stuck!

Cheers.

Keep in mind, that the negative pin of the large filter capacitor is NOT ground.

Hi Dillen

Here is a picture of my #1 attempt, which is what I thought I needed to do:
