Hi!
I have a question about my Beocord V8000 which are connected to my Beovision Avant 32 DVD. Haven't used it for some years now, but tried to use it again this week.
The problem is this, I get sound, I get menu text and timecode etc, BUT NO PICTURE. Only a black screen. Everything is connected by the book.
How is this possible, any IDEAS??
Or is just the old machine broken of time spent down in my dry basement for 4 years....
Best regards Lloydern
Just leave it running for several hours, with some old video tapes. Eventually the heads will 'self-clean' and the picture will miraculously appear! Or not
Thanks, I trying it out now. Will keep it running - Koronatime. Home all day long with the kids, so plenty of time. Hope this will fix the problem....
7 hours running but still now picture. But the screen has moved from all black to snowing. Is that a good sign??
I seem to remember that some video tapes has a short 'cleaning' section at the start and/or end of the tape. It could be worth repeat-playing these portions, or alternatively find a head cleaning tape.
There's a video about head cleaning here, it you fancy giving it a go: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0egTI__8D5E
Use at your own risk!
It is snowing all the time now, so its nothing to do with the tape itself.
Thanks for the tip about cleaning. I will chech it out....

Just a couple of further thoughts:
How is the V8000 connected to the TV? If with a SCART lead, have you ensured that the SCART plugs are pushed fully home, and maybe tried an alternative SCART lead to rule out a fault?
Also make sure that the lead is connected to the lower SCART socket on the V8000, marked 'AV'.
I have exactly the same problem. Tried a different scart. All working fine until very recently and used a lot. Sound plays fine but no picture at all. Before the picture went there was a lot of interference, like a tracking error. The same tape played perfectly last time without tracking adjustment. Looks like an engineer job.
I have the same problem. Did anyone of you try the head cleaning tape? Did it work? Cheers, K
