This forum has been great!
I've tried and tried to adjust my 6500 tonearm but it still misses the correct position coming up short when it drops and ends up slipping off the album. Also there is a lot of slop in the tonearm, it moves too freely side to side. Please, any advice is appreciated
I have 3 turntables, one aforementioned, the other is for parts and the third is missing its string. I would be indebted to you if you can provide the correct source for the turntable string.
Thanks much

The tonearm needs to move freely approx. 1cm each side. The reason you cannot adjust it correctly, might be that the white plastic holder, where the 2 ends of the wire is connected to the sledge, is broken, and now sits loose. It is a common problem, and you just break it off, and then replace it with a small bolt with nut and washers on each side, and then slide the spring down on that insted of the original white plastic tap.
