hi there. long time owner/lover of RX2 turntable, now trying to help a friend repair or at least diagnose a BEOMASTER 3300.
System has 3300 turntable, cd player and cassette deck, but so far i cannot tell if any of those work because the receiver does not really power on. when plugged in, there are 2 yellow lights above the power button. no buttons on the unit do anything.
sometimes when plugged in the word STEREO lights up yellow (temporarily) as well, but not always.
is this likely a power issue- or perhaps an issue with the board behind the button strip?
note that i am good with a solder iron, bad with schematics & have a fully featured multi-meter. ready to do whatever i can to rescue this beautiful system.
thanks, ian
Hi Ian
maybe a bad contact of AC main switch, check that and let us know
Have a nice Wednesday
MArco
Marco- thanks for the reply. I am clearly in no real rush to get this done, but picking up the torch for the project again now.
I think i need some hand holding to test this. I'm unsure where to meter the AC main switch.
Thanks,
Ian
