I can't see the black subplatter in the video.Perhaps it's just out of view.NEVER run the Beogram without it.
The Beogram bottom plate is not important.
The black subplatter (the round rotating part of the eddy-current motor) sits under the platter (the round thing with the radial streaks on it, that carries the record).Without the subplatter nothing will run and the tacho-opto gets no feedback. This causes the electronicsto send max output to the motor coils (to no avail besides heavy humming) until the drivers burn.
