Beosound Core wired to Beolab 5000 panels

Hi there all, if I wired up a BS Core directly to BL 5000 Panels would they switch on and what would be displayed on their screens? I’m assuming that i would theoretically be using a splitter cable from Steve. What would the UX on the App be like? I know freaky question. Smile Rob

You’d see a picture of the Core

I have labelled my Core “20” to reflect the speakers it has attached, and to make Siri commands easier.

I don’t know that the App supports you having pictures of the attached speakers.

At least Apple’s HomeKit lets you do that sort of thing.

Hi Rob,

Yes, this would work, you will see an image of the Core in the app, but you should be able to change this.  The cables need to be fully wired mk.2 versions (my splitters are also fully wired) - this will work fine except that the Core is not able to light up the displays on the speakers.

You would need:-

Good question!  I haven't tried the latest software beta, maybe one of the guys from the B&O software team can comment on how to change the icons displayed in the app on the new software?

BeoSystem 4 does not support Penta/Beolab displays. I guess the Core will be the same.
