Hi all. I'm new here - sorry if this is in the wrong forum. I'm writing because I've just purchased a used Beosystem 5500. It's beautiful, but used and needs some love. The CD player won't open when a CD is in it (it worked fine when it was empty) and to see why it's malfunctioning I would like to open the cabinet. But I just bloody can't figure out how to open the cabinet! . I've loosened the two screws on the back and I'm trying to slide the cabinet backwards. Nothing happens. What am I missing?
Hope you can help me out :)
You are indeed a Saint! Thank you - I'll try this out today.
There are two small metal pieces behind the screws in the cabinet, which needed to be removed by turning the cabinet upside down. Afterwards the cabinet could slide backwards.
