Hi all. I'm new here - sorry if this is in the wrong forum. I'm writing because I've just purchased a used Beosystem 5500. It's beautiful, but used and needs some love. The CD player won't open when a CD is in it (it worked fine when it was empty) and to see why it's malfunctioning I would like to open the cabinet. But I just bloody can't figure out how to open the cabinet! Laughing. I've loosened the two screws on the back and I'm trying to slide the cabinet backwards. Nothing happens. What am I missing?

Hope you can help me out :)

The screws hold a vertically sliding piece of metal in place that stops the top cover from sliding back. If the screws are loose but still attached, lift them up vertically and tighten again. Or just flip the whole thing upside down to slide the top off once the screws are out. Or you could be doing it right and it is just stuck and needs a bit of firm love.

There are two small metal pieces behind the screws in the cabinet, which needed to be removed by turning the cabinet upside down. Afterwards the cabinet could slide backwards.
