Dear all,

I saw just now a story on Instagram that bang and Olufsen reposted with a person who just bought new speakers (Beolab 50). They are placed on the sides of the sofa.

I’ve been curious before about putting my bigger speakers (Beolab 20) in the same way and put my smaller (Beolab 8000) in front.

I guess the true image algorithm should make this work well but it feels wrong. Maybe I’m wrong though. Opinions?

Beolab 50, Beolab 8000 x 2, Beolab 4000 x 2,
BeoSound Core, BeoSound 9000, BeoSound Century,
BeoLit 15, BeoPlay A1, BeoPlay P2, BeoPlay H9 3rd Gen, BeoPlay H6, EarSet 3i,
BeoVision Eclipse Gen 2 55", BeoPlay V1-40,
BeoCom 6000 and so much else :)

If I've read your post correctly, you're suggesting using your large speakers as rears and smaller speakers as fronts. You can certainly try it and see how it sounds, but that strikes me as completely counterintuitive.

Exactly. I wonder if it would be bad or good. I would need to rewire for it so I won't do it without knowing more first. I need ICEpower enabled PL to the back speaker port in my apartment first (or WISA which I've tried half a year with many issues of not turning on properly).

Putting your poorer speakers at the front is very unlikely to produce better sound – let's just put it that way.

Well 8000 isn’t really bad. But yeah

I've made a similar placement: The 8000s in front (opposite sofa) and the Pentas rear (left & right).

Soundwise - when I'm sitting in the sweetspot - it is a very good sound.

The treble of the 8000s is a bit higher and they are a bit louder than the pentas but the overall sound is very imprssive!
