This has suddenly happened since adding an earth/grounding wire.
Beogram 5005 has, after a lot of tickles, been working perfectly. But since adding a ground wire (rewired with a three core cable to give earth back to the wall socket) the tracking has totally stopped. Both the left/right button and the auto opto sensor have no effect. The left/right button does lift the arm but no linear effect.
I'm getting no voltage across the motor terminals when pressing the L/R button. So a bit stuck.
Any ideas? Am I testing for the voltage correctly by going across the terminals and not one terminal to earth?
Any help gratefully received. Hopefully something simple I've missed.
Thank you
Hi
Did you open the Beogram for mounting the Ground Wire?
Have you checked the String for the tangential Transport?
It´s a common problem of these Type of Beograms that a small Hook of plastic snaps of the Base where the String is attached to.
Here is a Link for this

In the Picture it´s Point H which comes of.
You can use a 3mm Screw with washer and Nut and reattach the String in Point H.
Is the Motor for tangential Transport working , Noise from Motor audible?
Motorbelt in place and not loose?
Check the above Points and let us know what you found out.
Best Regards
Chrischi
Ground wire is connected to the chassis on the inside of the beogram.
Wire is all in place and operates perfectly.
This is an issue with the motor not running. There is no power to the tracking motor.
Why I do not know, that is the question.

Basically lots of static and a light tingling when you drag your fingers over the surface of the body.
Interestingly the beomaster is also not earthed so cant see how the earth on the masterlink will earth anything apart from the BG to the BM.
I took a lot of advice and apparently a lot of people have done the mod and swear by it.
I originally had the BG linked by an earth wire to the BM's ground screw after earthing the BM in the same was with a three core cable. All worked well and the static was gone but the ground lead was 'messy' so decided to rewire and give the BG it's own earth.

If you mean to revert back to factory and remove the mains earth, I have already tried and still no tracking.
