Same - 1.3 I believe to be the latest SW.  Something to do with being able to communicate with the BeoSound 5 rings a bell...

I'm not an installer though, so please forgive if I'm wrong!

Ok, thanks for the update; most time when looking for 1611 units it's often SW 1.3 and haven't seen any SW 1.61 units for sale but did see in other thread that it's possible to upgrade them to SW 1.6 by replacing software chip. Then again, I haven't opened any looked inside but have upgraded BL3500 to later SW by replacing pcb card which holds the SW.

Also, pitty that the current product section doesn't capture this kind of information and should be considered to be open up for edit by registered members or even better move of all this information to wiki based section instead (which it might be but then I haven't found it....).

TWG:

Latest SW is 1.6 which enabled compatibility with MLGW: Forwarding light and control commands.

I think you are talking about Beolink active - type 1636 - which latest sw is indeed 1.6.

Question is about the Beolink converter - type 1611.

Question

I am thinking the Same... I can’t se any reason to upgrade it to MLGW support because none the “old” datalink products support it anyway🤔

You're right! I mixed up Beolink active and Beolink Converter.

- Beolink active 1636 SW 1.6
- Beolink Converter 1611: SW 1.3
