Yes, this is entirely possible with an analogue source featuring the correct connections, but not through the AUX connection, which is only stereo (hence the designation AUX2). You would need to use the cassette input, which is quadraphonic (hence TAPE4). As a result, I have my quadraphonic eight-track cartridge player connected to the TAPE4 input, whilst my stereo cassette and reel-to-reel decks share the AUX2 input.
Ok, thanks for this. I have played a beocord 5000 through the tape 4 in the past with all 4 speakers playing sound, but not quadrophonic sound obviously.
Do you have a phono to din converter for your various sources. I’m curious if the Beomaster would play four mono tracks
From the likes of a portable zoom recorder and encode the tracks into the tape 4 channels.
Have you a recommendation for a quality 8 track player at a reasonable price?
Do you think that one of the earlier B &O reel to reels with 2/4 channels would work via the tape 4?
Hi ,Thank Politicien ,i have few 6000 and 3400 ,i use all days an 3400 quad (sorry it's my prefer but it's not the most beatiful and the touch is completely different)
Do you know if the 3400 have the same capacity with the Tape 4 ?
And do you know where i can find and 8 tape player (220v) ,this item don't exist in France .
Thank at all beoworlders
I've never encountered a quadraphonic cassette deck in the flesh, nor any quad cassettes that could be played on such a machine. Quadraphonic eight-track cartridges are more commonplace, and I'd suggest you buy an eight-track deck instead.
