If your Samsung has headphone minijack out where volume is regulated via vol+/- on the remote (test it with some headphones) and a USB socket that turns on and off (maybe with a delay) I recommend this cable.
Used it for years for a BL 7.2 and a Sony TV. Worked perfectly and the BL 7.2 will turn on/off automatically.
Nothing against Steves cables.... But as far as I know he has no solution where a USB cable is providing the trigger voltage.
Your optical out is not volume regulated...
