Beosound Level - selecting audio source

Hi everybody,

I just purchased a Beosound Level, which I intend to use for listening to CDs on an external player connected through optical cable.

I believe that the Level should automatically select the audio source when I start playing a CD, but it does not. The only way to listen to the CD source is to unplug and plug in again the audio cable. And when I use another source (radio) or turn the Level off, the CD source gets lost and I cannot find a way to select it again, expect for this unplug/plug in again manip, which is far from being ideal. 
 
Does anyone know a way to manually select the source, because I could not find.
