Temperamental Beosound 4 door

Hi,

For years now, the door on my Beosound 4 opens, to start closing a second later. One has to be quick to put or remove a CD.

Any idea what may be causing this?

Needs a new belt, maybe? The belt might be slipping.

It opens and holds when I present my hand, it is when I press "Load" that it opens up fully to close readily, unless it decides to stay open as it should. Do you still think that it is belt related?

I’ve heard of this fault with the BS4 a few times. My father’s BS4 had it. Powering the unit off completely and turning it back on it again (after about 15 minutes) worked, although the issue did recur some time later. I don’t think it’s mechanical. More likely to be something to do with the firmware.
