Hi,

I've got a Beoplay V1 that I use to listen to Airplay streaming through an Apple TV. The Apple TV is configured to the DVD button, as I haven't gotten around to get my BEO4 update yet.

So far I figured out to:

  • select the Apple TV through the DVD button
  • Turn of the monitor through P.MUTE
  • Select the speaker group i want through SPEAKER+2

So far so good, but is there anyway to automate this process, and avoid a few of the button presses? I guess, what I want is something like an A.DVD button?

Best regards, and thanks :)

I posted a similar question ages ago and I don't think there was a way - if there is then I would love to know too!

I've read this thread on the subject as well:

But it didn't seem to offer a fix :/

It's not a big deal because I've got P.MUTE and SPEAKER GROUP shortcuts on LIST, but it would be really sweet to turn it on with 1 click.

No, it is not a big deal - 'a big deal' is different!

But explaining this to my wife and to friends (to whom I always say, that controlling a BV is troublefree) is a big deal.

On the other hand iit should not be 'a big deal' for B&O to make a fix to this.

On the newest Beo4 there is an entry (in List) called 'A-APPLE', so maybe they already have thought of the need for turning on a BSys4-based system in 'Audio only' mode.

Maybe coming in a next update, is my guess.

As for the possibility to choose which source to turn on in which speakers constallation, it should not be that difficult - and I really wonder why they did not already have made this possible.

A simple entry in the source setup menu, that lets you choose a default 'speakers group' for a specific source, would solve that problem!

Maybe we will also see that in a future update - still hoping Unsure

Get a NL converter. When you select line in, the television then acts the same way legacy ML video products do. They

turn off the screen and play only audio. You will be able to turn up volume without the screen coming on as well.

Ah, you know... A little B&O here, a little there

BeoMegaMan:
Get a NL converter.

Pretty heavy solution just to play music on a V1 via AirPlay with less button-pushes on the Beo4 Crying

Out of curiosity, what is an update for the Beo4?

I assume a dealer supplied update to the software running on the remote?

Many thanks..

Neither you nor the dealer can update a Beo4.

My advice would be to let an 'older' Beo4 upgrade with a new PCB and new 'keyboard'.

This way you will get the newest SW - and a Beo4 fit for the new generation B&O tv's.
