Hello,I have a problem with one of my s45-2s,basically it sounds like the foam has gone on the woofer but it is fine. Am trying to find out what the problem is on another thread, but if I need to replace the woofer, what is the best one to go for ?

Thank you

Gavin.

Sounds like the magnet has slipped. It's fixable, do a search on the forums, there was a thread about it recently.

This is one such short thread of a successful repair but there are others:

and this is the most informative one for a proper fix:

Thank you. I'm not overly confidant as I have never fixed a woofer before but will give it a go. If it doesn't work which woofer would be a good replacement ? I read somewhere Goldwood woofers would do the trick.

Cheers

Gavin.

If you are not confident, get it done professionally. One of my M100 woofers did the same and i had it repaired. Company in Norfolk.

Most times you can buy a pair for peanuts (at least here in Holland) which is probably cheaper then getting it repaired.

Maybe I have one left...

From what I know S45-2 woofer have rubber surrounds?

They do have a rubber surround. The later series uniphase S45 had a foam surround but that was a completely different two way speaker.
