I have a fairly nice set up now via ML.  Beosound 4000 master a few passive 1658's with the IR eye for control as well as a Beolab 2000 and 3500...     I was hoping to integrate a Essence into the equation but I know this may be possible through the AUX jack on the Beosound 4000....   Would I have full control to distribute sound from the  Essence over my entire network???

Another question could I use the Essence alone with a B&O passive and use my own speakers in another separate location????     If so how would it be accomplished?

Sorry for the questions..

Thanks

Are you planning to use the Essence as a stand-alone source for Spotify, or are you planning to use it together with an iPhone or Mac?

I have been trying to figure out a way to incorporate a essence with my vintage setup, but in the end it will only give me a expensive remote.

With the vintage systems, in my opinion, it is better to go with an airport express or maybe a playmaker (I do not know the playmaker very well).

The Essence is a cool remote control, that's about it :( (and I hate myself for saying that)

Sorry for the questions..

Don't feel sorry for the questions - but do feel sorry for not searching the forum before posting Unsure

This question (and similar) has been asked quite a few times now - most recently in a thread started just 2 days ago.

Please have a look there:

http://archivedforum2.beoworld.org/forums/t/13316.aspx

As with any other BeoSound/BeoCenter with PowerLink as the speakers connection you can easily use a BeoLink Passive for driving any (well almost any) passive speakers.

Just connect the PL-out of the Essence to the PL-in on the BL Passive amp - you don't need the 'ir-eye' connected.

And you will have to use a - fully wired - RJ/PL to DIN/PL cable (or an adapter), since the plug of the PL has been changed.

All newer B&O devices have the RJ/PL connections.

Do feel free to ask further questions after reading the thread mentioned above Smile

P.S. For the europeans amongst the Beoworlders - a BS4000 is what we call a BeoSound Ouverture!
