I am using one from Gefen. I just wrote a question about some issues I have with it.
What are you going to use it with? The ones from gefen are getting fairly cheap nowadays.
"You think we can slap some oak on this thing?"
Hi,
Just added a matrix to my system before Christmas and paid my dealer £200 for the activation key for the BV10. Quite a lot of cash for a small number which he entered on the TV for me. The matrix does work very well and the picture quality excellent
Why do you need a key to activate the use of an HDMI matrix with a Beovision?
i think i pay about 240 euros / product
and the key needs for open up matrix funcionalty on older Products like bv10,beosystem 3, and bv7 (with bsys3)and bv8-40
and some early beoplay v1 , on bv11,beosystem 4,avant it's included
The key is to allow the older BeoVisions to control any source on the matrix in a similar way to controlling PUC sources using a Beo4/5/6 remote. It does work very well, my only complaint is that everything has to be powered up because the Power commands are not passed to the products, like when swapping sources on the TV itself.
You can, I guess, control the matrix without the key but would have to have an Atlona IR eye mounted on the TV to send the control codes back to the matrix, I wondered if these could be programmed into the Beo6 for products which did not support the matrix by default. I couldn't see why not but it was easier to pay the money and get the B&O supported solution.
I have been paying €200 for each key.
think it's a pretty crazy asking for €200 after you have bye 2-3 television for €20,000.
should've been a service exactly like it on beovision avant ,beovision 11.
And the saddest part is my b&o dealer apologized for having me paying this money .
