G'day,

Has anyone seen this device or used it, or even bought it?  It connects to speakers using WISA, and it has Blu Ray, SACD, etc

I wonder if Sharp will have any collaboration with B&O

Thanks in advance

Michael.

Bang & Olufsen have not created WiSA.

WiSA is an association of many electronics companies which use Wireless Sound Audio technologies.

Sharp was one of the first companies to launch a WiSA compatible receiver/player.

But it takes a company like B&O to reveal the potential of the WiSA technology.

One that has experience with receivers (or rather 'pre-pro's') as well as with (active) speakers.

Klipsch has recently launched a WiSA speaker system. They use a hub as the heart of the setup.

'The “brain” of the wireless Klipsch system is the RP-HUB1 smart distribution hub that allows for simple connection to up to 4 HDMI® equipped devices, digital optical, analog and Bluetooth® wireless technology, including the high resolution aptX® codec. The hub processes multi-channel inputs and distributes them wirelessly with transmission of up to 24 bit/96kHz. The system is also expandable over time, allowing configurations from 2.0 all the way to 7.2 channels.'

I am not sure, if one can combine the Klipsch set with the Sharp Universal Player, since the Klipsch set uses 'it's own' hub.

Would be interesting to read a review of these products.
