Hi & welcome to Beoworld
Looks like you have a nice setup - congratulations
olistb:I plug in my Xbox via an hdmi to dvi cable and turn on the tv
It may be that the DVI will not carry the audio that comes from the HDMI - but that is not the big problem right now.
olistb:I press menu/options/connections abd choose av1
On some BeoVisions (e.g. my BV8-40) some of the AV processors have extra functions, so for example my AV3 presents a different set of options when you define it as a PC like device, but for the moment let us try to get AV1 working for you.
olistb:I then change the source to v.mem and change HDTV to dvi-I. And nothing happens when I goto any of the tv DVD radio buttons on the remote.
From this description it sounds like you do not have [V.MEM] set inside your Beo4's [LIST].
Check this by repeatedly pressing [LIST] (until you see you are back at the start) and see if [V.MEM] appears.
If it does appear, press (GO) to activate the V.MEM definition in the BV7, from then on your keys will have a V.MEM AV context.
But if [V.MEM] does not appears when you [LIST], [LIST], [LIST] then you need to add [V.MEM] to the list, so follow these steps:
BeoNut since '75
If you have bought the remote supplied with the TV, assuming it is a MK4, the V.MEM will be found under DTV, that's the simple stuff out of the way.
On forums one needs to be very clear - TV/DVD/RADIO buttons won't do much since you are trying to access the source you have identified as V.MEM!
My concern is that the 7-32 is either a MK1 without the HD upgrade (I mean uprated Scaler Board as some might say!) or that the board itself is faulty.
1) Try re-booting your XBOX and see if it is a hand-shaking issue
2) Advise the first four digits of the serial no and type no
You are either missing something very obvious or regrettably it is something more complicated!
Is the setup in the TV done correctly?
You have to tell the tv what source (V.mem, DVD etc) goes to witch connector in the back (Av1, Av2 etc) is this done correctly?
olistb:Beo-ed many thanks for the detailed response. I managed to get my pc connected thought a VGA to dvi connection. Set DVD as my source abd hdmi for HDTV. Unfortunately I have had no such luck with the Xbox or my my virgin hd box. I am slightly more enlightened about the process now. However I seems to be missing some vital peices of knowledge. Right now I have devices connected to the component connected and VGA connection. Still unable to see anything from these sources. I think I may have to visit my store for a quick lesson. Many thanks to you all for your responses.

Did you get manuals when you got the Beovision ?
There are two - a User Guide and a Reference Guide.
