Excuse my ignorance , but is it possible to use an adapter to make a Beolit 12 effectively into a Beolit 15 ?

it would be good for those of us with the Beolit 12 and the Airplay has never worked and are too busy to send it back !

it would also be good of B&O to compensate those of us who bought before the price dropped by offering some kind of conversion to Blue Tooth as its a great speaker.

Yes, you can buy aptX Bluetooth dongles on certain auction websites.

The iPhone doesn't support aptX yet, but I'm sure it will so it's worth hunting for.

We are thinking the same thing :)

I have one lying around just waiting to pop into the Beolit 12 when it arrives in a week or two.

My bluetooth adapter needs a 5v to work, and it will give a feed to anything that normally acn receive through USB. So I can´t see why it wouldt work.

It is this size, so it should be pretty nice :)

BeoLit12s have a three year warranty. If Airplay is failing on it, send it back and ask for a full refund. Then buy the Bluetooth 15 and save a few hundred pounds too. Rather than be upset about the price being dropped, just ask of a full refund. This is the only way that B&O will learn to make 100% performing reliable products.

I find it crazy that people are prepared to put up with expensively priced products that do not work properly.

It is a rumour built on an assumption that the latest bluetooth (apx ?) will be brought to the Beolit 12 form factor and renamed as Beloit 15.

Like all assumptions it may satisfy that well know equation:

assume = ass+u+me

Have you done this successfully?

With what BT-unit?

Interesting and i nearly had a conniption

OK i still have my 30 pin adapter BT dongle that i used for the BS8 that wasn't so successful, however, I just plugged it in to the BL12 via the 30 pin adapter to USB cable

It has power which is better than the BS8

Will keep you posted on the success

Hi,

I had the same thoughts and tried a:

Sandberg Universal Bluetooth Audio Link
(https://www.cyberport.de/sandberg-universal-bluetooth-audio-link-auf-iphone-dock-konverter-adapter-2-0-4E99-00A_1273.html)

unfortunately without success...

Best regards

Does the USB need to be activated when connecting a iPhone with USB?

Can't figure out how to choose between inputs.

To select an AirPlay source, press A.MEM on Beo4. Playback of AirPlay must first be started on the iOS device.

To select a source connected via USB, press LIST to bring up DOCK (or N.RADIO, if DOCK is not available) in the Beo4 display, then press the centre button.

To start playback of the music library on your iPhone® or iPod® connected via USB, press CD on Beo4.

To select a source connected via line-in, press LIST and bring up A.AUX in the Beo4 display, then press the centre button.

Press the centre button* to pause playback.

Press PLAY** to restart playback after a pause.

Press STOP to stop playback completely.

Note that these commands do not apply to the line-in source.

* The pause function is not available on a Beo4 without navigation button.

** The play function is available on a Beo4 without navigation button by pressing the GO button.

Use the volume buttons to adjust Beolit 12 volume.

Press the standby button on the remote control to switch Beolit 12 to standby.

Note! Operation with the Beo4 remote control can only take place when the name of the source shows in the display: A.MEM, DOCK, CD or A.AUX.

Now I have a Beolit 12 with Bluetooth. It is duck-ugly (autocorrect intended).

Any verdict out what is working? Fair to say that the USB version don't work, but the line-in dongles do?

Anyone seen a less ugly one?
